MLB: "Rocky" start
Since the 2008 season, the centennial state has dreamed of their baseball team; the Colorado Rockies to make a trip to the postseason for only the second time since their crushing sweep against the Red Sox in the 07 World Series. 10 years later, the Rockies shocked fans and critics by having the best 50 game start in the MLB, leading the NL West and even claiming the best record in the National League. With young stars like shortstop Trevor Story and 2017 All Star Nolan Arenado, this team was bound to be a force to be reckoned with in baseball.
They started June by having a 6 game winning streak. Since then, they have lost 10 of their last 11 games while also falling into third place behind the Diamondbacks and Dodgers in the NL West with a 48-36 record. As for a postseason watch, they are in the second wild card spot behind the Diamondbacks.
As we approach the All Star break in Miami and the midway point of the season, the Rockies have a tough road to the postseason as they have series against the first place Nationals and Brewers, as well as the D-Backs and Dodgers; all of which are in August and September.
If the Rockies are going to make the Postseason, they must display the magic they had during June; otherwise Colorado's Postseason drought of baseball will continue.
