The Broncos contract talks with General Manager John Elway are over. Denver and Elway agreed to a contract extension that will keep him in Denver through 2021. This deal will also make Elway the highest paid General Manager in the league.
"During these last six seasons, John's clearly established himself as one of the best general managers in all of sports," said Broncos President and CEO Joe Ellis. From drafting linebacker and Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller in 2011, to getting veteran QB Peyton Manning and establishing the best secondary squad in the NFL in T.J. Ward, Bradley Roby, Chris Harris Jr, Aqib Talib, and Darian Stewart along with acquiring Demarcus Ware from Dallas, Elway has deserved this contract extension and has built this Broncos organization into the standard the Pat Bowlen has always wanted; winning.
With his first Lombardi as a GM and recently drafting OT Garrett Bolles and former Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly, John Elway will continue to build his former team into an NFL powerhouse. Alongside the best defense in the league, an improved O-Line and young future quarterbacks, he will become the best GM in the NFLfor years to come.
